The third in the series of this historic cathedral that was saved by the bravery of the town mayor as he ran into the battlefield to stop the town from being bombed.  The most understated of the three paintings provides more detail for the cathedral while remaining ambiguous about the surrounding buildings and landscape.  Again, the impact of light is explored with deep blue shadows cast on various forms of the space.  The impact of time on the cathedral’s stone, with over nine hundred years of subtle erosion of crisp details combined with the accumulation of natural and man-made particles is suggested with brush strokes and colors.

Awarded first prize in the Minneapolis-St Paul Airport Community art show in the professional category.
