A combination of early line work with ink and multiple glazes of color suggest the strength and permanence of the structure of the building and trees while also conveying the movement and temporary nature of the snow.  The warm, orange light casts contrasting blue shadows on the snow.  This view is taken as I walk up from our Studio in the woods behind our house.   Notice the snow covered Adirondack chairs on the patio and the impact of the light on the snow as it escapes from inside the house and rises from the east.
